Our Senior School curriculum enables our students to gradually specialise as they are supported to identify their strengths and interests, and to achieve the qualifications needed for their pathways beyond school.
We offer a wide variety of subject choices in Years 11-13 to empower them to find success on their individual pathway, gain academic success in NCEA and University Entrance, as well as facilitating a range of internships and apprenticeships through our unique pathways programme.
The multitude of senior subjects on offer include English, Statistics, Calculus, Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Physical Education, Health, Drama, Photography, Digital Technology, DVC, Painting, Dance, Music, History, Geography, Business Studies, Psychology, Classical Studies, Food Technology, Building and Construction, Outdoor Education, Art History, Hospitality and Japanese.
At Hobsonville Point Secondary School, we view the attainment of NCEA Level 2 as a two year journey. In Year 11, students complete a combination of curriculum-aligned assessments, developed by our subject experts, NCEA Level 1 standards, and if appropriate, a selection of NCEA Level 2 assessments.
In Year 12, students are supported to gain relevant qualifications for their pathway, completing NCEA Level 2 and, if appropriate, a selection of Level 3 assessments.
By Year 13, students have been supported to find their passions and to select NCEA Level 3 subjects which prepare them for their pathway beyond school, including success in University Entrance and Scholarships.
